Mike is a 3rd generation Ocalan who found his way into the pool and hot tub industry in 2000. He was transferred to Biloxi, MS to help build up retail stores after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. He later expanded his knowledge of the trade by moving to Dallas, TX to work with a prestigious pool builder. Mike saw a lack of personal touch in the retail sector and knew he could breathe sunshine into the brick & mortar concept if he opened his own store. In 2014, Mike took the plunge and made his dream come true. Ocala Pool Boys was born, and so was Mike’s brand of excellent expert service!
Nay’s area of expertise was in Health Promotion. An ailing grandfather, in need of family assistance, brought Mike and Nay back to Florida. They realized that if they owned their own business, they would be able to provide 24/7 care. Nay made the decision to hang up her Health Promotion hat and learn about water chemistry and everything related to pools and hot tubs. They were able to juggle caring for their grandfather while building a business where they could embed themselves in the local community and provide hands-on customer service driven by dealing with the owner directly. And here they are, still going strong, building trusting relationships one customer at a time, and treating their staff and every customer like family.
